Learn the Ownership Application
Under most circumstances, BPC implementations have avoided use of the ownership application. However, this is a short sighted thinking process. The use of business rules and automatic adjustments at a minimum relies on certain members of the ownership account to be populated with valid data. The ownership application is not difficult to create or relate to a legal consolidation application, and even in the case where all subsidiaries are 100% owned, the benefits of having access to the functionality of all of the business rules is substantial. In the case of a profit in inventory elimination and management application or process, using the automatic account adjustments is critical to avoiding unnecessary use of advanced logic. While beyond the scope of this paper, an ownership application relating the various legal entities supports profit in inventory and other elimination processes.
